At Raj Yoga, it only takes an hour and a half to experience your happiness and excellence. From your very first class you will learn powerful techniques to be calm, uplifted and free from pain. As you continue to practice Kundalini Yoga, you will become aware of the depth of your identity and your ability to succeed in every facet of your life.
The sequences in Kundalini Yoga are designed to be practiced by people of all ages and abilities. They bring together postures, movement, breath and relaxation in dynamic ways to achieve direct and immediate benefits, like getting rid of back pain, stimulating weight loss, or relieving stress. Our teachers are trained in offering modifications or alternative postures to accommodate physical limitations.
Kundalini Yoga is the Yoga of Awareness. Every class works to build the meditative mind so that you can relate to your highest self. We teach active meditations – techniques that enhance pure contemplation with elements like breath, visualization, mudra (hand yoga) and mantra (chanting). These techniques work on the pathways of the brain and the glandular system to balance your emotions and allow you to experience bliss.
As a community owned nonprofit since 1975 and the only dedicated Kundalini Yoga center in the Greater D.C. area, we are committed to making the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan accessible to people from all walks of life. In addition to our regular weekly classes, we offer exciting special events like concerts, workshops, intensives, and celebrations. We would love to have you be a part of the Raj Yoga family.
